Manhattan Toy Wimmer-Ferguson Mirror

I knew I needed to find the largest mirror possible that was baby-safe to amuse Leo. He could occupy himself for a few minutes just staring at the baby in the mirror and squealing in delight. Once he began to crawl I thought it would be great to have a mirror in his playpen. However, most of the baby-safe mirrors on the market are small and meant to encourage tummy time. I wanted something that I could attach and help encourage him to want to sit up and see into the mirror. The Manhattan Toy Wimmer-Ferguson Double-Feature mirror does just that. I had to DIY a ribbon extension that was carefully wound and attached to playpen wall so it would be safely attached without any hazards but it turned out quite well. Leo enjoys sitting and babbling with the baby in the mirror, lifting the mirror and looking at the shapes on the back and now that he can pull up, he likes to see his reflection. When he was little, it was a great addition to his baby Einstein playyard because we could hang it so that he could see the mirror or the black and white shapes/animals. I do wish it had the holes and ribbon attached also at the bottom not just the top, so that it would be possible to secure it better if I wanted to only use one side (mirror vs the black and white shapes). Perhaps in the future they will come out with another mirror that could have the 4 holes (each corner) for attaching it more securely. Also if the surround would be padded then maybe it could be even better? Definitely, overall a great addition to encourage his self-discovery.
